Wedding FAQs

We recognize the significant amount of time, effort and coordination involved in planning a wedding. To assist the planning of your special day, we have compiled a list of wedding related questions that are most frequently asked of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club.

In order to have your wedding at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club, you may choose to become a Social Member for an affordable annual fee, or you can be "sponsored" into the club by one of our existing members. A Social Membership will give you the opportunity to experience our exquisite in-house dining venues and special events throughout the year. If you do not know an existing member, please inquire how we can assist you.
Personalized menus are our specialty. Executive Chef Steven Sinclair and Event Coordinator Janet Belak will work with you in designing a menu to suit your taste, preference and budget.
There are four rooms available to you at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club. The Ambassador Room is perfect for intimate gatherings, seating 50 comfortably and up to 100 for cocktail style. The Curling Lounge is ideal for both a cocktail reception or a seated dinner, seating 100 and up to 150 for a stand-up reception. The Fairway Ballroom has the best view overlooking the beautiful scenic views of the golf course. This room allows for 300 people in a cocktail reception and up to 220 for a seated dinner. The Greenside Dining Lounge can be separated from the ballroom according to the number of guests attending. The dining room will seat 80 guests comfortably and up to 100 for a stand-up reception.
On-site ceremonies can be hosted at the club for an additional charge. The amount will vary ($500-$750) depending on the overall estimated revenue from the wedding.
Our first class culinary team led by Executive Chef Steven Sinclair can create a wide variety of palate pleasing options to suit every taste and budget. Due to City and Provincial Health regulations, all food served on the property must be prepared in-house with the exception of your wedding cake.
We offer an outstanding wine list offering a wide range of pricing and tastes. The club is also licensed for dinner wine corkage at a cost of $15 per bottle. A special event permit license is required for this purpose. No homemade wine is permitted.
The club has a beautiful portable dance floor that can be relocated and resized to fit your specific floor plan.
Included are tables, chairs, white linen, white skirting for your head table, cake table, gift table and registration table. All china, glassware and cutlery are included, as well as a podium and wireless microphone. Additional audio visual items such as screens, LCD projector and laptop are available for an additional fee.
Complimentary parking is included for your guests and vehicles may stay overnight if necessary.
The most common meal formats are plated and buffet service. However, there is a growing trend for stand up cocktail receptions with chef attended "action" food stations. Please review the Catering Package on the Wedding Menus homepage to learn more.
We are currently working with a number of local hotels on special accommodation rates.
Pictures are permitted in specific locations, but only with the approval of the General Manager. The Event Coordinator must be present when pictures are being taken on property.    
Depending on availability, the club may allow limited golfing privileges for the wedding party for an additional fee. 
Our room rental rates are based on an 8 hour rental. However, if the room is available the night before, couples are able to set up and decorate for no additional charge.   
Yes, trial sampling meals are welcomed at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club. Personalized menus can be designed or guests may order off menu.
A $1,000 non-refundable deposit and signed contract are both required to guarantee your room booking. Sponsored events require a second deposit of 75% of the total estimated event no later than (48) hours prior to the event date. Payments can be made by cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard or certified cheque. Members of the club have (30) day billing privileges. Final payment of sponsored events must be made within 7 days of the event.
