Hole 1
Par 4 |
Beginning just a few steps from the clubhouse, the opening hole, a short par 4, presents a wide fairway and a short approach into a large, back-to-front sloping green. The safest way to start your round is to hit your tee shot to the 100-yard marker. If you get too aggressive with your tee shot, the fairway bunkers could come into play in a hurry and leave you with a very difficult second shot! |

Where it began.
In 1907 a few enthusiasts laid out a nine-hole course with sand greens.
The only rule was that once you had played a green it was your duty to smooth out any footprints on the green by running over the "green" with a piece of carpet that was fastened to a brick.
