Welcome to the World Curling Tour Huron ReproGraphics Oil Heritage Classic!

October 26 - 29, 2017 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club

Sarnia Golf and Curling Club hosted 20 teams from around Ontario, USA, and the World competing in the Huron ReproGraphics Oil Heritage Classic. This is a triple knock-out format with eight teams advancing to the playoffs. The event ran from Thursday to Sunday.
Some of the notable teams competing were: Team Glenn Howard, Team Mabergs from Sweden, Team Brown from USA, Team Kean, Sarnia’s Team Bice, Sarnia’s Team McCormick (representing USA National Program), and Sarnia’s Team Kelly.

Speaking of local talent, SGCC members participating were: Heath McCormick of Team McCormick, Mark and Steve Bice of Team Bice, Dale Kelly of Team Kelly, Evan Lilly of Team Krell, as well as sparing
appearances by Ian Parker, Mike Pruliere, and Rob Pruliere. Team McCormick and Team Bice will each be participating in the Olympic Trials for their respective countries in the coming weeks.

This year’s champions, Team Glenn Howard, defeated Team Brady Clark in an exciting final that came down to the very end. Team Howard knocked out Team Kelly in the Quarter Finals and then knocked out Team Bice in the Semi-Finals. The winning team consists of Glenn Howard as Skip, Adam Spencer at Vice, David Mathers at Second, and Scott Howard at Lead.

Crowds were large for many of the draws as there was free admission to come watch some of the best curling in the world. As you well know,  Sarnia Golf and Curling Club boasts some of the world’s finest curling ice and facilities. This event continues to grow and become more successful. It should be a can’t-miss event on everyone’s calendar next October.
